Contemporary artist and activist AleXsandro Palombo is not exactly known for “quiet” pieces of work. From Disney princess with disabilities and a “Je Suis Paris” series in the aftermath of the Paris attacks, Palombo uses art for what he believes are good causes. In honor of the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against women, he released a photo series featuring Hollywood A-listers like Angeline Jolie, Kim Kardashian and Madonna sporting black eyes, cuts and bruises as if they had been abused. Palombo hoped the campaign would raise awareness for domestic violence and call for victims to speak out. Click next to learn more about the project.
