Male Elephant Attacks Rhino Mom And Baby (Photos)

Both considered large beasts in the African animal kingdom, elephants and rhinos generally coincide peacefully…or do they? Since the early 1990’s, park rangers in South African game reserves have noticed an increase in elephant aggression. At first, the aggressive actions were towards humans, but now, studies find that young male elephants are attacking more and more female rhinos.

This is exactly what happened on that faithful day amateur photographer Louis Kok and his wife Marthie were photographing a black rhino and her calf when a large one-tusked bull elephant approached. The scene quickly took a turn for the worst when it was realized that the male elephant was charged with exorbitant levels of testosterone. Click next to see what happened.
